FAQ

Q: Do the injections hurt?

A: Dermal fillers are injected directly into the skin in small amounts by an ultrafine needle. Some patients may experience minor discomfort. Our physician will determine if any pain management is necessary.

Q: What should I expect?

A: Injection of fillers usually requires the use of either a topical numbing cream or a local injection of numbing medication. Then, using a small needle, the dermal filler is injected into each wrinkle or scar that requires treatment. Some mild burning and stinging is normal and quickly resolves. The injection process takes only about 15 minutes and results are immediate. Plus, there’s minimal recovery or downtime.

Dermal Fillers

A dermal filler is a substance injected into the skin to replace lost volume and fullness. Because the goal is to return the dermis to its original youthful state, dermal fillers can give a more natural appearance than surgical face lifts.

Dermal fillers are recommended to temporarily improve the appearance of scars and wrinkles and for lip augmentation.

We have both Juvederm® and Radiesse® treatments available.

Juvederm® is an injectable gel that can instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. It is approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds - the lines from your nose to the corner of your mouth. Juvederm® injectable gel dermal filler is a non-surgical, physician-administered treatment. Results may last up to 1 year.
